It is with sadness that we report the death of Life Member David Adamson. David joined the club in the late 1960s, and was still an active member until 2 or 3 years ago. He was a member of the 1st XI that won the Trueman Surrey League in 1971, and played in a number of 2nd team league winning sides in the mid to late 70s, and more recently in 2000, as well as captaining the 2nds for a number of seasons. He had stints running the bar, as team secretary, and when he finished playing he umpired for the 2nd team for 10 years. He was also for years the club's go to odd job man. From making and then repairing the sightscreens (yes they do date from the 60s!) to making the club clock, to repairing the scorebox numbers every year, to mending hundreds of bats for club members, there was no job that he wasn't willing to turn his hand to.

Recent times had seen him become more of a spectator than a participator, but he was often seen at the side of the pitch (sometimes with wife Valerie by his side) as sons Richard & Michael played on the park.

The club made David a Life Member a number of years ago, and in his case it can definitely be said that he dedicated much of his life to the club.

Our thoughts are with the family at this time.
