Practice almost makes perfect

Tight game today in the sunshine. Much improved on last week - can tell the boys were up for it and been practicing. Dom lead us out and won the toss again ! choose to field and started a bit shaky in the field and lost a few runs to bad fielding but soon stepped up in the field and only gave away under 20 runs in the next 8 overs. Zac's figures were stunning today with 3 overs, only 5 runs and 2 wickets ! Casey from our under 9 string of wonders put in 2-5-0. We kept them to a good score although with the lapse between 16 -18 over it could have been smaller. We went out to bat started slow with a cheap run out but some sturdy play. Gregor and Derek stepping in for pairing two and Gregor was like a man on a mission 8 off the over ! but for two wickets could have taken the game away in this pairing. Hamish and James kept their wickets well working well as a team. Max from our "Elite" under 9 performers hit a front foot drive for 4 which was unbelievable. So we were close and a last over wicket just took it away from us. Unlucky huge improvement and if we keep going like this a win is around the corner.
