Another excellent day at Master Park on Sunday 9th for the third instalment of ‘Old’ Oxted v ‘Old’ Limpsfield.

Old Oxted batted first and posted 146-5 in their 25 overs, James Tombs top scoring with 49 and Keith Hillier making 36, giving skipper Michael Adamson 'something to bowl at'.

An enjoyable tea interval followed during which the appointment of Hugo Tudor and Andy Tyler as new Vice Presidents of the club were announced and the joint team photo was taken. Breathing in all round.

Old Limpsfield’s reply started with both quick runs and quick wickets as Olly Blake snared two victims but Limpsfield skipper Simon Pugh batted fluently until the 2nd of these wickets fell.

Andrew Davis then gave a master class in hard hitting until he retired on reaching 50. John McKenzie then joined Hugo Tudor with 6 an over required from the last 12 overs. It was to be Old Limpsfield’s day as the experienced pair batted sensibly, combining 1's and 2's with well executed 4s.

Limpsfield sealed the win for the loss of just the 2 wickets in the 23rd over to end a friendly but competitive game and the result meant the series score now stands at 2-1 to Oxted.

After the game, both sides enjoyed the post match BBQ and beers and viewing of selected Club memorabilia in the Pavilion. All are looking forward to the 2019 event, which is likely to be Sunday 8th September, again at Master Park.

Note - report written by M Adamson. Simon is far too modest to include the complete last paragraph but I will as he is so important to making the day a success.

Thanks as always to all involved on the day but special thanks to Simon Wardley for all his hard work on the day and displaying the memorabilia, which was enjoyed by all.
